Hayman Island Day 1
I’ve only been on Hayman Island for 8 hours and yet I already feel so contented. We drove to the airport this morning and boarded the plane from Brisbane to Hamilton Island at 12 noon. The flight was ten minutes late but luckily we weren’t late for the transit.
We were supposed to board the ship to Hayman Island from Hamilton Island but instead, they put us on a seaplane and the journey only took 10 minutes(the initial journey by ship takes one hour)! We even did the check-in at Hamilton itself. They are SO EFFICIENT!
It was our first time travelling in a seaplane, besides being a little bit shaky, everything else was all good. There were only five of us including the pilot. To our surprise, someone with a golf kart was already there waiting for our arrival as we landed at Hayman.
It must be our lucky day because we get to travel in a seaplane and we had a room upgrade without any extra charges. The pool view isn’t too bad, parrots run wild on this island, there were two sitting on our balcony this afternoon.

This is only one part of the salt-water pool.
Requested for ‘turn down’ service because the floor needed some mopping. Walked along the beach in search for food at about 4.30pm. Ended up having chips and soft shell crab club at the Beach Pavilion.

Had reservations at La Fontaine at 6.30pm. OMG, the three-course-meal was very delicious, I loved every bite of it and it was only $163, considering that we had a lot of food… and GOLD on our sorbet ;) ;) AGAIN, first time having edible gold. Most of the people who work there are French and the treatment we had was top notch. Every time a dish came out, the waiter/waitress will explain what it was in a French accent, I guess we don’t have to visit the country for an experience like this :P Another funny thing was the maître d’ gave us the children’s menu once we were seated, so we asked the waiter to give us the adults’ menu. The maitre’d came back and asked us “how was the children’s menu?” :) We could see that he was embarrassed but we laughed it off and he explained that he didn’t have his glasses on, hence the mistake, anyway he came back to see how things are after every course. Everyone (the manager/waiter/waitress) came asking whether we wanted our picture taken every time I took out the camera to snap pictures of the food. Food – 10, Service – 101!
My main – smoked ocean trout. Heavenly good!
Dessert: Rhum-baba - cake with fresh vanilla cream, dried cherries and sugar cane rum.

Heart My Food
I think I'm getting the hang of this housewife job... after work! I've been cooking dinner with all my heart for the past few nights, this made Rui say "can you not fatten me up anymore?!" and he looks at his tummy and says "I'm sorry, buddy, just for tonight..."
Last night's

Malaysian Cuisine
Had Malaysian food for dinner last night at Jacq's. The home-made sambal was mmm mmm yummy! This is easy to get in Malaysia but not here :(

Roti canai made from scratch
... just because the shops sell a packet of instant roti canais for AUD6-7!
When in Malaysia, you get it for RM4?

Anyway, it was really good, ten of us enjoyed it very much... all we brought was a bucket full of fish and squid crackers, note: all the way from Kelantan, so they were fried in Australia with (olive oil and) imported ingredients!!! Rui purposely bought the big container for this.

Drive Me Around
I have always liked being the passenger...
...that is why I think it is an achievement every time I drive Rui around because it's manual :P
Drove to Oxley and back today. Rui was very happy as he had time to sight see.

I'm also scared of going for the driving test as they are so strict with everything!!!
Example 1: You mustn't step on the clutch after 3 seconds of changing gears.
Example 2: When the speed limit is 50, you have to drive within 45 and 50km/h. Anything less or more, you f.a.i.l.
Example 3: No free gears :P It always has to be in the 1st gear whenever you stop/stay stagnant unless parking.
Example 4: No changing gears when turning, you are only able to do so before or after the turning.
... and the list goes on. Need more preparation... boohoo!

感动
I rubbed my left eye and the contact lens slipped out of place, up the eyelid. Struggled looking for it, teared up, rushed to the ladies', waited for it to come back down, colleague asked whether I was okay. After a minute or two, the lens slipped to the side of my eye, folded into half. Messaged Rui about this because I had blurry vision... wished I had an eye patch then. Used right eye to work.
Left vision came back clear. Continued working. Had two pieces of wholegrain bread and a can of tuna. Received call from Rui, told him to wait as I walked out to talk, went through the kitchen, saw the director, manager and a few colleagues having lunch... Rui, on the other side of the line, said, "Faster go out and talk".
Talked louder outside of the office, saw this silver Honda civic parked in front of me, thinking that it looks like ours, scanned through the car plate, looked so familiar but can't be bothered, and still talking to Rui on the phone... SNAPPED, it was our car!!! Stunned.
Walked to him... still stunned as of why he was at my office during lunch break... and you know what? He asked how was I and handed me my glasses. MY GLASSES! He drove all the way home from work and got them during his one-hour lunch break... and he had not had lunch yet! After that, he drove back to work -___-''
Kept texting him to say "THANK YOU"... couldn't get rid of the smile on my face. I don't think anyone will do that for me. He was worried that I would have a bad day coding with a wonky eye. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. *Heart melts* Didn't mean to be so yuk ma but I just feel so grateful to have him as my soulmate, my best friend, 我的知己.
The little things you do mean so much to me.

Old House
We inspected a five-hundred-and-thirty-five-thousand-dollar house in a suburb near Rui's office. I had to wait for the 111 bus for ages in the rain in Winter (!!!) after work just to get to the bus stop near him.
The two-storey property has undergone renovations and has five good-sized bedrooms, 2 huge bathrooms (one with a spa bath tub and huge/long mirrors on the wall, the other has two showers on the left and right!), a swimming pool, a theater room and hidden laundry area... but it's 3 decades old. -__-'' It creaks when you open the window and you can even see ... bad! Sigh, I like it but it's not really worth the price.
