Team Autobots

We went to watch Transformers 3 at Garden City after work today and it was mind-blowingly awesome. Rui's colleagues thought that he forced me to watch it as a payback because I dragged him to watch Twilight with me, but I went in my own will! I love transformers, practically grew up with the cartoon, don't think bumble bee was as famous as optimus prime back then. Jake knows all of their names and he has a huge optimus prime transformer toy at home. That new actress looks so much alike Megan Fox!

Anyway, busy weekend is ahead. Having dinner with Michelle tomorrow night at her house, Goan food! Yummm. Then having lunch at Charlene and Benson's new house, her mother-in-law's cooking! :D

Kuih Malas for Lazy People Like Me

Made kuih malas (aka cucur udang or prawn fritters in English) from scratch because Rui requested for it.
Didn't know that it was so easy to make!
Mummy normally makes this but she's not here at the moment :(

The outcome

Best eaten with sweet chilli.
Mae Ploy's really good :)

Ice!

This gloomy and cold Sunday morning, Rui gave me two options on where I wanted to go today. Option 1: Seaworld. Option 2: the City. Both had its pros and cons but we opted for the second choice because it was nearer and I was afraid that the ice skating rink would be gone before we even get the chance to see it. It snowed bubbles too!

It costs $20 per person to skate for 45 minutes and $7 for skate hire. -_-''

I guess it's just not our kind of weather to preserve ice in its original form. It was melting before our eyes :P Just like the one in Sunway Pyramid.

Food

Bought two huge live mud crabs for $60. Rui made chili crab and just boiled the other.

Goldsteins pies at Pacific Fair... blegh.

Sunday brunch with Charlene and Benson at DaeJangKum in Sunnybank

Tried cooking this because I was craving for chicken's feet with mushroom and it turned out the same when cooked with chicken thighs. I'm so happy to have learnt how to use star anise!

Weekend

Hello! Long time no see! Fnally having a breather because the weekend is here... *phew* ... It has been a long week and I kinda liked it. Heading down to Gold Coast soon to meet up with a friend, at the same time, I can do some winter shopping! Dreamt of Jake and Riley and Nana last night. Hmmm, I must be missing them very much :)

We've started playing DotA again. Need to brush up on our skills because the two of us couldn't even win against five normal AI bots. Tsk tsk tsk...

Having aches and pain all over, suddenly feel too old to be partying :/ ...

Happy Mother's Day

As a pre Mother's Day celebration, I cooked something special for mummy yesterday before she flew back to KL. Also gave her a pair of blue-stoned earrings which she immediately wore. This happy chef stood and cooked for two hours but it was all worth it.

Cooked the mushroom sauce from scratch, pan-fried barramundi fillets, honey glazed baby carrots with almond flakes with roasted potatoes tossed in olive oil.

Mummy loved it :) That's all I needed to know as everything was a first for me.

Happy Mother's Day, mummy, you will always be my superwoman!
And YES, we've done the laundry just like what you told me on the phone this morning :)

Bills

If I had the option to own my own business or work in my currrent position at the current workplace, I would choose the latter.

Both of us agreed that it was good to be back in brisbane after our three-week holiday. I was so worried about the house even when the security alarm was armed, luckily nothing happened.

At the end of the day, there are bills to pay - home loan(I hope the interest rates do not increase anymore *not happening* otherwise we will be doomed for thirty freaking years), council fee, water/electricity bills... Food, bus ticket expenditure, fuel, toll... etc.

Still, I love my life :)
